Pertenhall is a small, rural parish in the borough of Bedford, set in the gently rolling countryside of northern Bedfordshire. It covers a compact area of farmland, hedgerows and country lanes and is home to only a few hundred residents; the local economy remains largely agricultural but many people now commute to Bedford and neighbouring towns for work.
Historically the village has roots back to the medieval period and contains a number of older cottages and listed buildings clustered around a traditional parish church and village green. Community life is quietly active, with a village hall, occasional fetes and local groups that keep rural traditions alive while the setting’s peaceful lanes and stone-built houses appeal to those seeking a quieter pace of life.
