West Heath is a suburban ward in the London Borough of Bexley, part of South East London. It is largely residential, with a mix of interwar and post‑war housing, small parades of shops, local schools and community centres that give it a settled, family‑oriented feel.
Historically it developed as London expanded during the twentieth century, and today residents appreciate pockets of green space and relatively affordable housing compared with inner boroughs. The local economy is driven by small businesses and retail, while many people commute via good road and rail links into central London, and community groups remain active in addressing neighbourhood priorities and social needs.
