The ward of Northumberland Heath sits in the London Borough of Bexley, sandwiched between Erith and Belvedere close to the northern bank of the Thames. It’s a suburban pocket of mainly Victorian terraces, post‑war and council housing with a compact local high street, community centres and decent road and rail links into central London.
Historically part of Kent, the area retains a working‑class, industrial legacy from the nearby riverfront but today is socially and ethnically mixed; recent years have seen modest regeneration, housing improvement and active local groups and sports clubs that shape everyday community life.
