Burley in Wharfedale is a riverside village in the metropolitan borough of Bradford, West Yorkshire, England, set in the green valley of the River Wharfe between Ilkley and Otley. The settlement has a compact village core of stone houses, Victorian villas and former mill buildings and grew notably after the arrival of the railway on the Wharfedale line, giving it a pleasant conservation-area character and easy rail links to nearby towns.
Today it is a popular commuter base for Leeds and Bradford, with a strong local community, shops, pubs and sports clubs, while still serving as a gateway to walking and cycling routes into Wharfedale and the Yorkshire Dales. Its history in textile milling and its attractive riverside setting combine to make it a sought-after, village-like spot with an active social life despite being close to larger urban centres.
