Ickford is a small village and civil parish in Buckinghamshire, hugging the border with Oxfordshire beside the meanders of the River Thame. Set in the low-lying countryside of the Aylesbury Vale with the Chilterns not far away, it retains a distinctly rural feel of farmland, riverside meadows and a compact, historic village core.
With medieval origins, the village has a parish church of considerable age and a mix of timber-framed and thatched cottages alongside later brick houses. Community life is quiet and village-centred, sustained by small-scale agriculture, local events in the hall and church, and a number of residents who commute to nearby towns such as Aylesbury or Oxford, making it a pleasant example of an English rural settlement valued for its character and landscape.
