Taplow is a Thames-side village in Buckinghamshire on the edge of the river valley, just opposite Maidenhead in south England. Its position beside the River Thames and close to the M4 and the Great Western Main Line makes it a popular commuter base, but it still retains riverside pubs, lanes of Victorian and Georgian houses and attractive green spaces.
The area is notable for its historic estate and parkland - particularly Taplow Court - and for the high-status early medieval burial known as the Taplow Barrow, which underlines a long local history. Nearby attractions like Cliveden and Dorney Lake add cultural and recreational appeal, contributing to a fairly affluent, village character with a mix of conservation interest and modern commuter-driven economy.
