The market town and civil parish of St Neots sits on the banks of the River Great Ouse in historic Huntingdonshire, within Cambridgeshire. Its riverside setting, attractive Georgian and Victorian centre and the adjoining suburb of Eynesbury create a mix of historic streets, waterside parks and active rowing and boating communities.
Named after the 9th-century monk Saint Neot, the town grew around a priory and a medieval market and has since become a busy commuter and market town with good rail and road links to London. The local economy combines retail, light industry and professional services, while community life is marked by a small museum, seasonal events and an active volunteer sector that keeps the town’s heritage and amenities lively as it expands.
