Histon and Impington are two adjoining villages a few miles north of Cambridge in the district of South Cambridgeshire, Cambridgeshire. They sit in a pleasant mix of suburban streets and remaining agricultural land, with strong commuter links to the city via the nearby A14 and the Cambridgeshire Guided Busway that follows the old railway alignment, giving the area a village feel while remaining well connected.
The area has a lively local culture - a bustling High Street, village clubs and events, and a notable non-league football tradition - and an interesting history of brickmaking and farming. Architecturally the community is best known for Impington Village College, a striking modernist school building associated with Walter Gropius, while many residents work in and around Cambridge, blending historic village life with the economic pull of the city.
