Barton-le-Clay is a village and civil parish in Central Bedfordshire, Bedfordshire, England, lying on the edge of the chalk escarpment that includes the Barton Hills and the nearby Sharpenhoe Clappers nature reserve. It has medieval roots visible in its parish church of St Nicholas and a centre of period cottages and Victorian buildings that reflect its long agricultural and downland-grazing history.
Today the village mixes rural character with commuter life - many residents travel to Luton and Bedford - and supports local shops, pubs, schools and sports clubs (notably the local football side). The surrounding chalk grassland is important for wildlife and attracts walkers, while community events and village facilities keep a strong social feel despite its proximity to larger towns.
