The civil parish of Sundon sits in Central Bedfordshire, just north of Luton, set on rolling chalk downland with a mix of arable fields, small woods and hedgerows. The parish contains the small settlements of Upper Sundon and Lower Sundon and is best known for the chalk slopes of Sundon Hills, a popular open space for walks, wildlife and wide views over the Bedfordshire countryside.
With roots stretching back to the medieval period the area still has a parish church and some historic buildings, but today the local economy is largely agricultural alongside a significant commuter element using nearby road and rail links into Luton and beyond. Village life is quiet and community-focused, centred on the church, village hall and occasional local events, while the hills draw walkers and naturalists looking for pockets of chalk grassland and birdlife.
