Maulden is a small village and civil parish in Central Bedfordshire, set near the top of the Greensand Ridge and adjoining the ancient Maulden Wood. The wood is a notable local feature, popular with walkers and wildlife enthusiasts for its mix of broadleaved and conifer areas, public footpaths and pockets of historic earthworks that hint at the landscape’s long use.
Historically an agricultural settlement with medieval roots, Maulden retains a village church, community amenities and an active local life, while many residents commute to nearby towns such as Flitwick and Ampthill or into London thanks to good road and rail links. It offers a quiet, rural character within easy reach of the larger centres of Bedfordshire.
