Forrabury and Minster sits on the rugged north coast of Cornwall, centred on the steep, wooded valley of the River Valency and the picturesque harbour at Boscastle. The coastline is dramatic and popular with walkers on the South West Coast Path, while lanes of stone cottages, ancient parish churches and craggy headlands give the area a strong sense of place and long habitation.
Historically dependent on small-scale fishing and agriculture, the parish now leans heavily on tourism, with visitors drawn to the harbour, coastal scenery and walking routes; conservation bodies and local efforts have also shaped recovery after the severe flooding of 2004. There’s a quiet, community-minded feel outside the summer season, with local events and heritage interests maintaining a distinct rural Cornish character.
