Lanlivery is a small, rural parish in Cornwall, sitting a few miles north of Lostwithiel and tucked into rolling farmland and wooded valleys that lead down to stretches of the River Fowey. The landscape is typical of mid-Cornwall, with quiet lanes, hedgerows and pockets of ancient woodland that give way towards the upland influence of Bodmin Moor to the north.
The village has a long history reflected in its medieval church and traditional stone houses, and today supports a tight-knit community with a village hall, a local pub and seasonal visitors. The local economy is largely agricultural with a growing contribution from countryside tourism and people who commute to nearby towns, while Cornish cultural traditions and community events remain an important part of village life.
