Mabe is a compact, largely rural parish in west Cornwall, England, sitting on the granite hinterland a few miles inland from the coast and close to the towns of Falmouth and Penryn. The landscape is typical Cornish countryside of rolling fields, hedged lanes and granite outcrops, popular with walkers and anyone wanting a quieter base a short drive from the sea.
Its history is reflected in a handsome parish church, St Laudus Church, and in past links to small‑scale quarrying and the wider 19th‑century mining economy; today agriculture remains important but many residents commute to nearby towns and the universities, while village life centres on a school, hall and seasonal community events that keep a strong local identity.
