Porthleven is a compact coastal parish on the southern coast of Cornwall in England, sited at the western end of Mount's Bay. Its 19th-century harbour walls shelter a working fishing port but also create dramatic displays when Atlantic swells crash over the mouth, making the town popular with surfers and photographers.
The local economy mixes fishing and tourism, with noted seafood restaurants, independent shops and an active arts scene; an annual food festival and a busy harbour calendar bring visitors year-round. The parish is also popular with walkers on the South West Coast Path, and retains a strong sense of community rooted in maritime history and coastal trade.
