Portreath is a small harbour village on the north coast of Cornwall in England, set where a steep valley meets the Atlantic Ocean. It has a compact sandy beach and an old harbour, with the South West Coast Path running along the cliffs; the bay is popular with walkers, families and surfers when conditions allow.

Historically it was an important 18th–19th century port for exporting copper and other minerals from nearby mines, and traces of that industrial past survive in the harbour, old tramway routes and ruined engine houses now incorporated into the Mineral Tramways and local cycle trails. Today the local economy is largely centred on tourism, holiday accommodation and small community businesses, giving the village a quiet, seasonal buzz and a strong sense of local identity.
