Tolvaddon is a small village in west Cornwall, set on the rolling granite uplands between Camborne and Redruth. It lies within the heart of the former mining district, with easy access to the North Cornwall coast and the dramatic, industrialised landscape that characterises this part of the county.
The settlement has a mixed residential and working character: remnants of the tin and copper industry – engine houses, spoil heaps and tracks – sit alongside a sizeable industrial estate and significant energy infrastructure, including a major electricity substation. Socially it feels like a close‑knit rural village with strong Cornish identity and local walking country, while nearby towns supply most shops and services.
