Wendron is a rural civil parish in west Cornwall, a few miles north-east of Helston, set in rolling hedged farmland and moorland. The landscape still bears the marks of 18th–19th century tin and copper mining, with surviving engine houses and spoil heaps that give the area a strong sense of industrial heritage.
Historically centred on farming and mining, the village church dedicated to St Wendrona remains a local focal point and there is a lively community life centred on village halls, pubs and traditional events. Today the economy is largely agricultural with some commuters and small local businesses, and the combination of historic mining archaeology and quiet countryside attracts walkers and enthusiasts of Cornwall’s industrial past.
