Four Lanes is a small village in west Cornwall, perched on relatively high ground a few miles from Redruth and Camborne. Its position gives pleasant views across the surrounding moorland and hedged farmland, and it feels more inland and rural than the coastal resorts many associate with the county.
Like many settlements in the area, Four Lanes grew up around 19th‑century tin and copper mining, and remnants of engine houses and spoil tips still mark the landscape. Today it is largely residential with a strong local community, village facilities and clubs, and an economy that mixes commuting, agriculture and small‑scale local services while sitting within easy reach of the tourist routes of West Cornwall.
