Eggleston is a small rural civil parish in Teesdale, County Durham, England. Set along the upper reaches of the River Tees, it comprises stone-built cottages and farmsteads clustered around a village green, with the rolling dale scenery typical of Teesdale and the moorland backdrop of the North Pennines.
Traditionally agricultural - sheep and beef farming remains important - the parish also benefits from walkers, anglers and rural tourism, and many people travel into the nearby market town of Barnard Castle for work and services.
