Waldridge is a small civil parish in County Durham, just to the east of Chester-le-Street and within easy reach of Durham and Newcastle. It is largely rural, with a patchwork of farmland and small settlements and an upland feature of particular interest, Waldridge Fell, a lowland heath and local nature reserve valued for its wildlife and informal walking routes.
The parish’s character reflects the county’s mixed agricultural and former mining landscape: you’ll find traces of industrial history alongside active farms, while many people now commute to nearby towns. Social life tends to centre on village amenities, outdoor recreation on the Fell and a small, close-knit community atmosphere.
