Edmondsley is a small village and civil parish in County Durham, in north‑east England. Set among rolling farmland, it expanded in the 19th and early 20th centuries as part of the Durham Coalfield, and remnants of that industrial past – terraces of miners’ cottages and reclaimed pit sites – are still visible in the landscape.
Today it is largely residential with a close‑knit community and a village hall that hosts local events reflecting both rural and mining heritage; the surrounding countryside provides footpaths and open views while many residents commute to larger towns elsewhere in the county.
