Quarndon is a small village and civil parish in the Amber Valley district of Derbyshire, England, sitting a few miles to the north of Derby. Perched on slightly higher ground above the Derwent valley, it enjoys open views and a pleasant mix of rolling countryside and residential streets; the church with its spire is a familiar local landmark visible from surrounding lanes.
Historically an agricultural settlement, the village expanded in the 19th century and today has a strong community feel with a village hall, primary school, cricket club and a couple of pubs. Many residents commute into Derby, but Quarndon retains a rural character and a conservation-minded centre, with local events and social groups keeping village life active.
