Little Eaton is a village in Erewash, Derbyshire, England, sitting a few miles north‑west of Derby and overlooking the Derwent valley. It occupies a pleasant fringe position between rolling farmland and the edges of the Peak District, with local shops, pubs and a village green serving a largely residential, commuter population.
Historically the settlement grew around limestone quarries, lime kilns and the early horse‑drawn Little Eaton Gangway, which linked into the old Derby Canal and underpins the village’s industrial heritage. Today it retains an active community life - fêtes, clubs and independent businesses - while its built character includes older stone cottages alongside more modern housing.
