Baslow is a picturesque village in the Derbyshire Dales district of Derbyshire, England, sitting on the north bank of the River Derwent at the edge of the Peak District. It lies close to the grand Chatsworth estate and not far from Bakewell, with a mix of limestone cottages, a stone bridge over the river and open moorland and gritstone edges popular with walkers and climbers.
Historically an agricultural settlement with ties to nearby estates, Baslow now has an economy shaped by tourism and local services - pubs, cafés, B&Bs and small shops catering to visitors and outdoor enthusiasts. The village retains a strong community feel, with a village green and church, and is a well-known base for exploring the surrounding Peak District scenery and historic houses.
