Hassop is a small rural parish in the Derbyshire Dales district of Derbyshire, in the limestone White Peak on the edge of the Peak District in England. It sits close to the wooded gorge of Monsal Dale and the River Wye, and the disused Midland railway line through the dale has been repurposed as the popular Monsal Trail, drawing walkers and cyclists to the area.
Historically centred on the estate around Hassop Hall - a 17th‑century house with a notable Catholic chapel that is now used commercially - the parish has a mixed agricultural and tourism economy, with the old station site offering cafes and cycle hire. The community is small and village‑focused, with easy access to market towns such as Bakewell for services and events, and a strong appeal for visitors seeking quiet dales, historic buildings and outdoor recreation.
