Wilsthorpe is a ward in the borough of Erewash, in Derbyshire, England, lying on the eastern edge of the urban area around Long Eaton and the Erewash Valley. The area mixes post‑war and later housing with pockets of green space, and benefits from nearby waterways and walking routes such as the Erewash Canal, giving easy access to both Nottingham and Derby.
Like much of the locality it shares the East Midlands’ industrial heritage - rail and coal-era growth followed by suburban residential development - and today is largely a commuter and family neighbourhood with local shops, schools and community clubs. Active sports teams, village‑hall events and small businesses help sustain a strong local identity even as housing and transport pressures shape ongoing change.
