Temple is an electoral ward in the borough of High Peak, in Derbyshire, England, sitting on the western fringe of the Peak District. The area is largely rural and upland, with limestone scenery, moorland and narrow lanes punctuated by small settlements; it attracts walkers and cyclists and offers sweeping views more associated with the national park than with built-up parts of the county.
The local economy is a mix of farming, small-scale quarrying and tourism, with many residents commuting to nearby towns such as Buxton and Chapel-en-le-Frith (and further afield towards Manchester). There’s a recognisably strong village community feel - parish halls, local pubs and volunteer groups remain important - while the landscape still bears traces of historic industry and former transport routes that shaped the ward.
