Willington is a village and civil parish in South Derbyshire, Derbyshire, England, set on the south bank of the River Trent a few miles from Derby. It sits on a largely flat river floodplain with agricultural land and riverside paths, and is close to other small settlements such as Repton, giving it a mix of rural character and easy access to larger towns.
The village has a noticeably industrial past - the now-demolished Willington Power Station was a major local landmark until the late 1990s - and has since become a mix of commuter housing, light industry and a close-knit community. Residents make the most of riverside recreation and the nearby tree‑planting and amenity projects associated with the National Forest, while local pubs and clubs keep a traditional village social life.
