Fremington is a village and civil parish in North Devon, Devon, England, sitting on the southern bank of the River Taw estuary a few miles west of Barnstaple. The estuary and nearby Fremington Quay and pill create saltmarsh and mudflat habitats valued by birdwatchers, and the old industrial waterfront gives way to riverside paths and open countryside.
Historically the quay was an important local hub for shipping agricultural produce and clay, with the 19th‑century Rolle Canal and later rail links shaping its growth; much of the disused route is now part of the popular Tarka Trail. Today Fremington retains a village feel while serving as a commuter and recreational spot for walking, cycling and enjoying the estuary scenery.
