Stokenham is a largely rural ward on the south Devon coast in the district of South Hams, England. It includes the small inland village of Stokenham itself and a string of coastal settlements such as Torcross, Beesands and Hallsands, lying beside the shingle beach and freshwater lagoon of Slapton Ley on Start Bay; the South West Coast Path runs nearby, offering widely appreciated coastal walking and wildlife viewing.
The area has a strong maritime and agricultural character - fishing, dairy farms and tourism all help the local economy - and retains vivid wartime memories from the D‑Day training exercises at Slapton Sands in 1944. Community life is centred on village halls, pubs and seasonal events, and the ward is popular with birdwatchers and walkers seeking a quieter alternative to busier towns like Kingsbridge.
