Teignmouth West is the western ward of the coastal town of Teignmouth in the district of Teignbridge, Devon, England. It occupies part of the town’s seafront and adjoining residential streets, sitting beside the mouth of the River Teign with views over the estuary towards Shaldon. The area benefits from the Riviera Line rail link into Exeter, a mix of Victorian and later housing, small local shops and the promenades and harbour that give the town its seaside character.
Locally the ward combines seaside tourism, small-scale fishing and a commuter population, with active community groups and a steady stream of visitors in summer. Its history as a trading port and 19th-century resort is still visible in period terraces and the harbour area, while contemporary life centres on cafes, marine activities and events that reflect Teignmouth’s maritime and social traditions.
