Northam is a small coastal village and parish in the district of Torridge, on the north Devon coast a short drive from Bideford in Devon, England. It sits beside the broad expanse of Northam Burrows, a mix of dunes, salt marsh and common land that links the village to the seaside settlement of Westward Ho! and is crossed by the South West Coast Path, making it popular with walkers and birdwatchers.
Historically the area has close maritime and agricultural ties, and the Burrows itself hosts the historic Royal North Devon Golf Club on its links; today the local economy blends farming with coastal tourism, holiday accommodation and day visitors. Socially it retains a strong village character with a long-standing local community alongside seasonal visitors drawn by the coastline, wildlife and outdoor pursuits.
