Bessacarr is a suburban ward on the southern edge of Doncaster in South Yorkshire, largely residential and known for a mix of 1960s–80s semis alongside more recent developments. It has a reputation as a relatively prosperous, family-oriented area with local shops, primary schools and small community hubs that give it a village feel despite being close to the town centre.
The ward features a number of green spaces, small lakes and recreational facilities including Bessacarr Golf Club, and a modest parade of shops along Bawtry Road. Originally farmland until 20th-century expansion, it now benefits from good commuter links to Doncaster and the motorway network via the M18 and M1, and supports active residents’ groups and community events.
