Auckley is a village and civil parish on the eastern fringe of Doncaster in South Yorkshire, England, sitting close to open countryside and within easy reach of the Doncaster Sheffield Airport site and the M18 corridor. Its location between town and rural lanes gives a mix of village character and commuter convenience, with neighbouring communities such as Rossington a short drive away.
Historically the area grew steadily through the 20th century and saw further change after the RAF base at Finningley was converted for civilian aviation uses, bringing local employment and housing development. Today Auckley combines a traditional village core with newer estates, a reasonable range of local shops, pubs and schools, and a community feel that benefits from both good road links to Doncaster and nearby green spaces.
