Fishlake is a small village and civil parish in the borough of Doncaster, South Yorkshire, set on the banks of the River Don. It occupies low-lying land in the reclaimed wetlands of the historic Hatfield Chase, so the surrounding meadows and marshes are rich for wildlife and popular with walkers and birdwatchers.
The village has a long rural history and a traditionally agricultural economy, centred on a compact community with parish amenities and a village hall. In recent years Fishlake has also been notable for severe flooding (particularly in 2019), which highlighted local resilience efforts and ongoing conversations about river management and wetland conservation in the area.
