Corfe Mullen is a large village and civil parish in central Dorset, set on the edge of the Stour Valley where the River Stour threads through heathland and farmland. It sits between Wimborne Minster and Poole, with straightforward links to Bournemouth, so it feels semi-rural while being within easy reach of the south coast and larger towns.
Historically it grew from agriculture and local clay and gravel industries, and although it expanded substantially in the mid-20th century it still keeps a village character with shops, pubs, schools and active sports clubs. Community life is lively - local fetes, clubs and conservation groups are common - and the mix of green spaces and suburban housing makes it popular with families and walkers exploring the Stour Valley and nearby coastal attractions.
