Merley

Merley is a mainly residential suburb on the northern edge of the conurbation of Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole in Dorset, England. Largely developed in the mid-20th century, it sits close to the River Stour and is a short drive from the market town of Wimborne Minster and the Dorset coast, serving as a popular base for commuting to nearby towns with a mix of housing, local shops and community facilities.

Historically the neighbourhood formed around Merley House and its estate, and remnants of parkland and mature trees give parts of the area a somewhat leafy character. Community life tends to revolve around small shopping parades, local schools and sports clubs, while the wider Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole conurbation supplies larger-scale employment, leisure and cultural amenities.
