Hanford is a tiny rural parish in north Dorset, England, set in gently rolling countryside not far from Blandford Forum and the chalk landscape of the Cranborne Chase. The area is dominated by agricultural land and parkland from an historic country estate, with a small cluster of houses rather than a village centre, giving it a quiet, leafy character typical of Dorset's minor parishes.
Locally notable is the Georgian country house and its grounds, now associated with an independent preparatory school, which provides much of the parish's visible built heritage and social focus. Economically the parish remains largely agricultural with a social life that revolves around neighbouring towns; its mix of listed buildings, estate parkland and close proximity to larger market towns gives it both historic interest and a peaceful residential appeal.
