Allerthorpe

Allerthorpe is a small rural parish in the East Riding of Yorkshire, set close to the edge of the Yorkshire Wolds and within easy reach of Pocklington. The area is best known for Allerthorpe Lakes Country Park, a series of gravel lakes and reedbeds that attract anglers, birdwatchers and holidaymakers, giving the parish a quieter leisure-tourism edge alongside its farmed landscape.

Historically agricultural with roots back to medieval settlement, the community today combines working farms with a modest commuter presence and local social life centred on village amenities and events.
