Kilham is a small village and civil parish in the East Riding of Yorkshire, sitting on the northern edge of the Yorkshire Wolds and within easy reach of the market town of Driffield and the east coast at Bridlington. The surrounding rolling chalk landscape and network of lanes make it popular with walkers and riders, and the built environment still shows a compact historic core of stone and brick cottages clustered around a church and village hall.
Economically the area remains largely agricultural with arable and mixed farms, complemented by a handful of local trades and small businesses; socially the village sustains a close-knit community with events centred on the pub, hall and seasonal fairs. Its long history is reflected in field patterns and occasional vernacular buildings, giving a palpable sense of continuity with the rural past of the Wolds.
