Snaith is a small historic market town in the East Riding of Yorkshire, set beside the River Aire and close to the M62 corridor. Its position on low-lying river plain and near the Aire and Calder navigation has long shaped its character, giving a mix of riverside scenery and easy road links to nearby centres such as Goole, Hull and Leeds.
Locally Snaith has a strong village-community feel, with roots as a market and agricultural service centre and a compact historic core centred on the parish church, All Saints' Church. The economy remains largely tied to surrounding farming and small businesses, while many residents commute to larger towns; social life revolves around village clubs, sports teams and occasional local fairs and gatherings that reflect its rural heritage.
