Ore is the north‑eastern ward of Hastings in East Sussex, sitting on the fringe where the town meets the countryside. Historically a small village that was absorbed into the expanding 19th‑century town, it occupies the low slopes and valley of the local stream and benefits from green corridors and views across the approaches to the coast, with easy access to the surrounding High Weald countryside.
The area is a mix of older village cottages, terraces and more recent housing, together with pockets of light industry and local shops. Ore railway station gives commuter links along the Marshlink corridor and the community has an active local life with volunteer groups and small regeneration efforts aimed at improving facilities and supporting a diverse population.
