Paslow Wood Common is a small area of ancient coppiced woodland and open common within Epping Forest, on the Essex side of the Greater London fringe in England. The landscape is a mix of oak, hornbeam and sweet chestnut with grassy rides and damp hollows, providing habitat for deer, songbirds and a variety of invertebrates; its informal paths make it a popular short walk for local residents and dog-walkers.
Like much of Epping Forest, Paslow Wood Common carries the legacy of commoners’ rights and traditional uses such as grazing and small-scale woodfuel production, and it is protected and managed for public access and biodiversity rather than commercial exploitation. Its value today is largely social and recreational, supported by local volunteers and conservation efforts that help maintain the area as accessible green space for neighbouring communities.
