The civil parish of Ingatestone and Fryerning sits in the Borough of Brentwood in Essex, England. It occupies a rural edge of the London commuter belt where the A12 and a railway station give ready links into London, yet much of the parish remains framed by farmland, ancient hedgerows and designated conservation areas.
Locally it’s notable for historic buildings - most famously the Tudor Ingatestone Hall - and for medieval churches, a compact high street of independent shops and traditional pubs. Historically agricultural and tied to local gentry, the community today blends long-standing village life with a significant commuter population, active local societies and occasional village events.
