North Fambridge is a small riverside village in the district of Maldon in Essex, England, set on the southern shore of the River Crouch. The landscape is dominated by estuary, salt marsh and mudflats, which make it popular with birdwatchers and sailors alike; the river and creeks give the place a distinctly maritime feel and there are several boatyards and moorings serving the local yachting community.
Despite its rural character, North Fambridge has a railway station on the Crouch Valley line with connections via Wickford into the wider rail network, so many residents commute to larger centres such as Chelmsford or London. Historically the area has been shaped by agriculture and estuarine trades, and today it retains a tightâknit village community with local events and amenities while sitting within easy reach of the market town of Maldon and the sailing hub of Burnham-on-Crouch.
