Leckhampton Hill sits on the steep limestone scarp on the outskirts of Cheltenham in the Cotswold, Gloucestershire, England. Its most striking feature is the rocky outcrop known as the Devil's Chimney and the old quarry faces, and from the hill you get wide views across the Severn Vale and towards the surrounding Cotswold ridges; it’s a very popular local spot for walks, dog-walking and informal recreation.
The hill bears visible traces of its industrial past in limestone quarrying and lime-burning, but now functions largely as common land and a wildlife-rich area of limestone grassland, valued for both nature and heritage. The combination of dramatic geology, accessible trails and local stories makes it an important social as well as natural landmark for the nearby town and visiting walkers.
