Lydney East is the eastern ward of the town of Lydney in the Forest of Dean district of Gloucestershire, England. It sits close to the edge of the woods and the shoreline, with views across the Severn Estuary towards South Wales, and combines suburban housing with pockets of light industry and small commercial centres serving local residents and commuters to Gloucester and Chepstow.
The area reflects the town’s industrial past, with historic links to coal, ironworking and the small harbour that once moved goods along the estuary, yet today it’s also a gateway for recreation - walkers and wildlife-watchers use local routes into the ancient forest and along the foreshore. Nearby Lydney Park with its archaeological interest adds a distinctly historic flavour, while a close-knit community atmosphere and local events keep the ward socially active.
