Liss is a village and civil parish in East Hampshire, Hampshire, England, set on the upper reaches of the River Rother at the foot of the South Downs. The parish includes the hamlet of Liss Forest and lies close to the South Downs National Park, with extensive woodland and heathland that make it popular with walkers and nature lovers.
Liss expanded in the Victorian era after the coming of the railway and still has a station on the Portsmouth Direct Line, so it functions as a commuter base for Portsmouth and London while retaining a village feel. The centre mixes older cottages and Victorian houses with independent shops, pubs and an active community life around the village hall and local clubs, and it sits a short drive from Petersfield.
