Greywell is a small village and civil parish in the district of Hart, Hampshire, England, tucked into the Whitewater valley. It sits beside the River Whitewater and the towpath of the Basingstoke Canal, with a mix of chalk downland, water meadows and traditional flint-and-brick cottages that give it a distinctly rural Hampshire character.
The village is best known for the disused Greywell Tunnel on the canal, long closed to navigation and now important for wildlife - in particular bats - and the adjacent wetland known as Greywell Fen, which draws walkers and naturalists. Economically it remains largely agricultural and residential, with many residents commuting to nearby towns; socially the community is small but active, centred on local conservation and the village’s historic landscape.
